What can I do for you?

My services can be broken down into three basic categories: manuscript evaluation, outlining, and book coaching. Whether you have a book proposal, manuscript, or rough outline, I'm here to help you take stock of your idea and create a book that will transform readers.

Every project will start with a brief consultation where we will determine our compatibility and determine which service is best for you.

My services

My services can be broken down into three basic categories: manuscript evaluation, outlining, and book coaching. Whether you have a book proposal, manuscript, or rough outline, I'm here to help you take stock of your idea and create a book that will transform readers.

Every project will start with a brief consultation call where we will determine our compatibility and address the ins and outs of each service plan.

Strategy Session

The goal of this service plan is to help you take stock of your idea and whittle it down into a thesis/pitch statement. Through this exercise, I will also help you get clear on your publishing goals and identify several next steps to help you pursue these goals.

  • Timeline: 2 weeks
  • Investment $120
  • Support: one 1-hour coaching call to discuss feedback and next steps

With this service, you will receive:

  • A partial manuscript evaluation of 30 pages of content
  • Written feedback on your writing sample as well as a comprehensive editorial letter providing you with next steps tailored to your publishing goal.
  • Curated writing exercises to help you develop a dynamic pitch statement that meets most agents' requirements.

Monthly Book Coaching

The goal of this service plan is to help you set and follow through on strategic writing goals that will prepare you to achieve your publishing goal. Here, I will serve as an accountability partner, providing you with 1:1 support and developmental editing as you work to complete your manuscript.

  • Timeline: 4-week intervals
  • Investment: $540 per month
  • Support: one 1-hour coaching call per month

With this process, you will receive:

  • Twice monthly writing deadlines (limit 50 pages per month)
  • Written feedback on each draft, which will be discussed during the monthly coaching call

Accelerated writing plans with higher page limits can be negotiated.

Copy Editing

I reserve a limited amount of time each quarter to take on copy editing projects. For writers pursuing traditional publishing, I provide editing services by agent referral only. If you are interested in working with me, please have your agent reach out via my contact form. For writers seeking to self publish, we must first complete a consultation to determine whether your manuscript is ready for late-stage editing.

  • Timeline: typically 4-6 weeks (varies by project length)
  • Investment: $0.03 per word
  • Support: one 1-hour call

With this service, you will receive:

  • One copy of your manuscript with in-line edits made using Word Track Changes and typed comments
  • One clean draft with all changes accepted
  • A style sheet listing all significant editorial decisions and relevant style rules
  • A 2-week revision window to address any last minute changes following the completion of the initial deadline

Writing is deeply personal, but it doesn't have to be isolating. I'm here to provide professional 1:1 support to writers when they need it most.

Hi there!

I'm Zoë Rose,
Editor and Book Coach

I serve writers in a way that makes sense to them.

Through my experience as an editor of literary and scholarly journals, I help memoir and nonfiction authors build their best draft from the ground up. Through my experience as a research assistant, I set them up for success.

A good editor is tough where it matters and compassionate where it counts. I chose this career because I deeply enjoy the human connection made possible by books. When I look at a bookshelf, I see the people who committed their time and passion to their stories. I want to do my part to help you get your work on that shelf!
